finding in the archives

the newyorker has always been a strange magazine for me. there are some interesting articles and pictures… But, generally, it just seemed a little out classed for me. however, in one of the earlier issues, an ad caught my eye. of course, the ads are your typical high-fashion models with expensive clothings that cost way above an average person’s grade. i guess maybe just because of the looks, design, or something that got my attention. anyway, i did get that picture clipped from the original magazine i bought; but, as time goes by (and room cleaning), it was lost.

no big loss… i say.

a thought struck me two days ago that i can actually goto the library’s newspaper and magazine archive and retrieve (not taring it of course) the same picture.

after hours of searching and from memory of approximate timeframe. i found it:

it was a dolce & gabbana ad.
(i still can’t tell you what i like about it). it took me about 3 hours to flip through tons of magazines (not page by page) ranges from mid 2004 to early 2007. suffice to say, i was releaved to find a farmiliar magazine cover…. to my surprise though, the image was a little different than i remembered. up till now, i still have my doubts. But, as mind plays tricks occasionally, the doubt has receeded a bit.

i photocopied the page just for temperorary keeping, since, looking more online. i found an entire archive of them and lo-and-behold here it is the image that i had in my memory did not appear. perhaps, i got mixed up with something else that i now have to search.

but unil that memory surfaces…

here ends my advenature of… a search.
